Home Security Case Study – Monitoring Construction Work

With some construction work about to start at his home, Dave wanted a camera security system to keep an eye on things. He decided on and installed a CleverLoop system, and once he had been using it for a while Dave sent us some feedback.

We liked his letter, and thought others might find it interesting. So here it is, just as Dave sent it to us:

Catching vehicle license plates at night.

One question that we get on a fairly regular basis is “can a CleverLoop security camera system get usable footage of vehicle license plates at night?”.

    Keeping outdoor cameras safe

A question that we sometimes get asked here at CleverLoop is: “how do you prevent people stealing outdoor security cameras?”

The first point to note is that opportunistic thieves look for items that are easy to steal, and also easy to sell for cash. Outdoor cameras for security systems don’t really meet either criteria, which is borne out by how few we have ever heard of being stolen.

The second point is that if you do have an outdoor camera stolen, it may just be mindless vandalism, or it may be someone trying to make a property easier to break into. Although the former is annoying and well worth trying to prevent, if you think you might be at risk of  the latter, then it is important to configure your security camera network to counter any threat

So what can you do to make the cameras less of a target?

Making the most of CleverLoop in a business setting

In business, a security camera is only smart as the system you use to control it.

In business, a security camera is only smart as the system you use to control it.

Although plenty of small businesses currently use CleverLoop as their security camera system of choice, many don’t make the most of the powerful, flexible protection is available to them.

Often, the owner or manager of a small business will approach the purchase and installation of a CleverLoop based on previous experience with older style security, alarm or CCTV systems. While a CleverLoop can do a great job of acting as any one of these, the real power comes in when doing all of these things together, with simple, user friendly set up and control options.

To explore this, it’s worth revisiting the three basic modes in which a CleverLoop can operate.

Being able to monitor your baby or young child from your mobile phone is a great way to make sure they are OK.

OK so this is a bit of a departure from the CleverLoop blog posts so far in that’s it is a bit more personal. It also looks at a use for CleverLoop that many owners will have figured out their own versions of, but is still worth mentioning.
