    PC Mag reviews CleverLoop System

PC Mag recently did a review of the CleverLoop camera based security system, and we think we did pretty well.

    PCMag

The bottom line of the review was:

“The CleverLoop security system allows you to use up to four cameras to monitor the inside and outside of your home. It’s easy to install, delivers sharp HD video, and offers multiple video storage options, but it doesn’t work with other smart home devices.”

Catching vehicle license plates at night.

One question that we get on a fairly regular basis is “can a CleverLoop security camera system get usable footage of vehicle license plates at night?”.

    Keeping outdoor cameras safe

A question that we sometimes get asked here at CleverLoop is: “how do you prevent people stealing outdoor security cameras?”

The first point to note is that opportunistic thieves look for items that are easy to steal, and also easy to sell for cash. Outdoor cameras for security systems don’t really meet either criteria, which is borne out by how few we have ever heard of being stolen.

The second point is that if you do have an outdoor camera stolen, it may just be mindless vandalism, or it may be someone trying to make a property easier to break into. Although the former is annoying and well worth trying to prevent, if you think you might be at risk of  the latter, then it is important to configure your security camera network to counter any threat

So what can you do to make the cameras less of a target?

Very few home or small business cameras need protection as serious as a cage.
